Incomplete or unqualified guest requests may be denied, as attendee demand is much greater than our available seats.



INTRODUCTION

Innovation is the creation of new economic value from the application of better solutions. It takes place through the provision of more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, and business models. As professional service providers, we should expect perpetual change in the markets we service as well as the tools and methods available to our businesses and to those of our clients.


The Innovation Affinity Group is a collaborative forum for members to discover and exchange ideas and business opportunities revolving around the practice of innovation.


Our group is a carefully curated roster of ProVisors members who are objectively relevant and accretive to the group’s mission above, with regards to how they think, how their businesses operate, and how they deliver innovative value to their clients.



CRITERIA FOR GUEST REQUEST ACCEPTANCE

We accept qualified guest requests on a first-come-first-served basis, with exceptions made for those who demonstrate their ability to make meaningful contributions to our innovative brain trust. 


In the interest of efficiency and proving out this innovative approach to qualifying guest requests, requests submitted on the ProVisors hub that skip step 3 below may be unilaterally declined without notice.


To qualify your guest request, please complete the following steps in this order:

1)   Read the rest of this page to prepare for a rewarding meeting experience

2)   Complete this guest request survey if you haven’t done so already

3)   Submit your guest request through the ProVisors hub

4)   Attend and participate appropriately in the meeting itself



TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials should be given in our group when real business opportunity and/or value was exchanged between two attendees who are both present in the meeting. 


Testimonials are for others in the room to learn something professionally valuable about the person being thanked and to learn something professionally valuable about the person giving the testimonial.


Your testimonial should always highlight something noteworthy and memorable about the person you’re thanking, can include a brief description of the related business activity, and can finish with a brief statement about you, your name, title, and company name.


We encourage attendees to prepare brief and thoughtful testimonials in advance of the meeting itself, and to get the pronunciation correct of the person’s name you’re thanking. One successful approach is to speak or correspond in advance with the person you’re planning to thank and ask them help you draft a concise and meaningful script to recite during the meeting. Regardless of your approach, please be respectful of other meeting attendees by following the above guidelines in delivering high quality testimonials.



TROIKA REQUESTS

The Innovation Affinity Group uses an innovative, technology-enhanced tool for managing the troika process. Please do NOT submit troika requests via email. 


Rather, please ONLY submit your troika requests via this form by 5PM PT on the Thursday before the scheduled meeting date. You will receive a confirmation email after submission, which will include a link enabling you to edit your responses--please save that email for future reference.


Troikas will be assigned on the Friday before the actual meeting takes place, so any troika requests not properly received by 5PM PT on the Thursday before the scheduled meeting date may not be considered. Registered meeting attendees will have access to the meeting attendee list through this page on the ProVisors hub and should expect to receive RSVP photo list PDFs via email approximately 1 week before each scheduled meeting date.


We do our best to honor troika requests and to make thoughtful alternate group assignments. Registered guests who appear on the RSVP list but do not show up to attend the actual meeting itself may be excluded from troikas, so we suggest submitting one or more alternate troika requests as backups.


Troika pairings will be distributed via email to meeting attendees by the end of the day each meeting takes place.



TIPS FOR A REWARDING MEETING EXPERIENCE

COME EARLY!!! We typically open multiple breakout rooms starting at 11:30am PT for chatting and making new connections


NOTE TO GUESTS – We start our meeting with announcements, then testimonials (only for those who are present in the meeting), then we dedicate the remaining time to engaging discussions lead by our group members and their guests on topics revolving around innovation. In the spirit of innovation, we do not budget time to go around the room with traditional elevator pitches. If you are giving a testimonial, please take a brief extra moment to introduce yourself to the group. Otherwise, please show up prepared to ask questions and share your ideas relevant to the presentation topic of the month, preceded by your name, your company, and one or two sentences about what you do. We love having guests attend and encourage them to connect with our members during the networking time before and after meetings to schedule one-on-one follow-up conversations to supplement the short time we have to be introduced during our meetings.


ZOOM! – We have received complaints about people who turn their video off, leave their camera facing an empty chair, or walk around the room with a smartphone which broadcasts a distracting video to others during our Zoom meetings. Out of respect to all ProVisors members who are speaking, we kindly request that you keep your video turned on as you stay engaged thru the duration of the meeting, just as you would in an in-person meeting.
